All new Honda Civic to get 9-speed transmission; all set to launch in India in 2019

In what could be a good news for car enthusiasts in India, Honda is all set to launch the new gen Civic after a long wait.

Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo earlier this year, Japnese plans to launch the 10th generation Civic sedan in India before March 2019.

The new Civic has received a 9-speed automatic transmission. Under the good, it’s the same a 1.6-liter unit offering 120 hp peak power at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm peak torque at 2,000 rpm.

The 1.6-liter diesel engine offers acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 11 seconds. While, the 9 speed automatic gearbox, fuel efficiency has been enhanced as in the UK the claimed mileage is at 24.39 kmpl.

Internationally, Honda Civic is offered in three body styles of Coupe, Sedan and Hatchback. However, it will only be the sedan version that will be launched in India.

The next-gen Civic has enhanced looks with the new front grille, upgraded LED head and tail lamps, front fog lamps, power operated ORVMs with LED blinkers and electric sunroof. Its interiors will be seen with 60:40 split fold seats, automatic climate control, satellite navigation, 7” touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, heated seats and push-button start/stop. It will also get a multi-angle rearview camera and smart keyless entry.

Honda Civic will also be launched in India with a 1.8-liter petrol along with the 1.6-liter diesel engine.
