Ducati launches MotoGP-inspired 959 Panigale Corse at Rs 15.2 Lakh

Italian super bike makers Ducati launched the 959 Panigale Corse in India on Tuesday, with a price tag of Rs 15.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The dedicated livery is a special edition offering inspired by the Ducati’s MotoGP color theme.

The 959 Panigale Corse derives its power from a Euro 4 type-approved 955 cc Superquadro engine and churns out maximum power of 157 hp at 10,500 rpm and maximum torque of 107.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm supported by an advanced chassis and high- end package.

“The Panigale has always been the definite Ducati superbike that allows biking enthusiasts to have an unparalleled experience on a race track. The 959 Panigale embodies absolute excellence through the advanced electronics package that inspires confidence and allows riders to explore the limit. In this special Corse livery, the 959 looks much more special and unique as the paint scheme is inspired by the colours of our MotoGP bike, the Desmosedici GP 18.”, said Sergi Canovas, Managing Director of Ducati India Pvt. Ltd.

The 959 Panigale Corse is around Rs 67,000 more expensive than its predecessor- 899 Panigale- and sports black wheels. The electronic packages provide the riders with the confidence at varying speeds and riding terrains. It is equipped with the new-gen two channel Bosch ABS 9MP, Ducati Traction control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Engine Brake Control (EBC) and Ride-by-Wire (RbW). There are three riding modes to choose from – wet, sport and race – depending on the riding conditions.

However, the variant available in India does not feature Ohlins suspensions, lithium battery, Ohlins steering damper and Ducati Performance titanium silencers by Akrapovic. The reasons for the absence of these features were not revealed by Ducati India.

Bookings are now open for the bike at company dealership- Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Kolkata and Chennai. Display bikes will be showcased at DRE (Ducati Riding Experience) Track Days to be held at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida on October 13-14 this year.
