Post the Aadhaar verdict; Gurugram man arrested for possessing fake cards

Date:

Aadhaar cards were illegally possessed by a man in Gurugram for which he used a machine that could forge the cards. He was held in Manesar on Wednesday on grounds of allegedly preserving the thumb impression of a woman who was allowed to operate the machine using a plastic sheet. He used that impression on the sheet to make fake cards and charged extra money for them.

Vinod was arrested in Manesar after a complaint was filed from the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Gurugram. According to the police officials, Vinod has been issuing fake cards since the past three months without anyone’s knowledge.

He also assaulted some officials from the ADC’s office on September 6 who went to the shop in Manesar from where he was issuing the cards. The officials complained about the activity at the ADC’s office after which the complaint was forwarded to the Manesar Police Station. An FIR was also registered on Wednesday there under sections 420 for cheating, 353 for assault, and 368 for forgery.

The search is on for the woman who gave the machine to the accused that had been issued to her by the government. The machine was given back to her by Vinod after the assault incident.

The fraud was caught when a patrolling move was taken out by a team from ADC’s office to find operators who were charging extra money to make Aadhaar cards.
