Turkey to stop visa on arrival for India and other countries

Date:

From October 28, Turkey will discontinue visa on arrival for India and other countries. The visa will need to be taken before travelling to the country.

The E-visa kiosks will be removed from the airports in Istanbul on October 28. For those applying for an E-visa need to do so prior to their travel on email or through VFS global centres. India, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan and 100 other countries are eligible for this visa.

Now the travellers will have to apply online for the E-visa from the Republic of Turkey website and an online payment will be required along with a form that will be filled in by the applicants. The E-visa can then be downloaded from a link on the website which will be verified by the passport control on entering Turkey. To be on the safer side, carry a soft copy of the visa on your phone.

This facility will only be applicable for tourists travelling for leisure or commerce. For study or work, the process would completely vary as the visas will be verified and issued by the Turkish embassies.

The best places to visit in Turkey are Istanbul, Antalya, Bosporus, Cappadocia, and Hagia Sofia.

The best things to eat and drink in Turkey include Menemen which is a Turkish style omelette, Meze, Kuyu Kababi, Adana Kebap, Iskender Kebap, Manti or Turkish ravioli, Kunefe, and Baklava, and do not forget the Turkish coffee.
