Date:

Porsche expanded its Macan family with the all new Macan S, which is even more powerful with its chassis given several upgrades.

The new Macan S adds around 14 bhp and 20 Nm of torque to its power output to churn out a total of 349 bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque. The new 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6 petrol engine propels the car from a 0 – 100 kmph in 5.1 seconds, making it 0.1 seconds faster than the previous model. It can attain a top speed of 254 kmph.

Porsche has also worked up the chassis, mechanical and electronics on the new Macan S. It is equipped with the advanced Porsche Traction Management four-wheel drive system and the tyres differ in sizes to fit the chassis set-up. The brakes on the Macan S are also newly designed and the pedals now weigh about 300 g lighter.

Porsche has enhanced the new Macan S aesthetically as well and it comes with an option of a GT sports package. The GT sports steering wheel is inspired from those on the 911 models and the mode switch which is integrated into the steering wheel – including the Sport Response button – is part of the optional Sport Chrono Package. Heated windscreen and an ioniser which, in conjunction with the fine particulate air filter fitted as standard is meant to improve the air quality in the cabin is an optional choice. The New Porsche Macan S gets LED headlights as standards while Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) system is also available as an option.
