Elections 2019: Actress Urmila Matondkar joins Congress

Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar has joined Congress party on Wednesday. The news of her joining the party had been coming out for a few days and now the official announcement has been made. She was welcomed into the party by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi.

She was photographed at the Mumbai airport earlier in the day when she was on her way to Delhi to meet with the party leadership. Milind Deora said that Urmila is not only one of the finest actresses but also opinionated which affects the society.

Urmila addressing the press in Delhi said, “I am taking my first step in active politics. I know that when celebrities enter politics there is a lot of conjecture around this. I’m here to stay. I believe in the ideology of the Congress. I have never done anything in my life half-heartedly. And that would be the same with politics.”
