Fact Checked: This claim about NaMo at Kedarnath is not true

Date:

A picture of PM Modi from his visit to Kedarnath has been going viral on social media.

The caption accompanying the picture suggests that PM Modi is wearing shoes in temple premises.

“बाबा के मंदिर में जुत्ते पहनकर जाते हुए हिन्दू ह्रदय सम्राट ।” the caption read.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, we found out that the claim with the picture is fake.

When we reverse searched the image, we found the picture was posted by the official Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 18, 2019.

When we compared the viral picture to another picture in the above tweet, it is visible that he is wearing black socks and not shoes.

We also found a video on Narendra Modi’s Youtube channel, that shows that PM removed his shoes and then wore black socks before entering the temple.

The above proves that the claim is fake.
