Dr Harsh Vardhan, the sole Minister in Modi Cabinet 2.0 from Delhi, took charge of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday, June 3. On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, the newly-appointed Union Health Minister arrived on a bicycle to the ministry to take charge to the office.
Taking to Twitter, he also wrote that cycling is simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally sustainable means of transport.

Along with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Harsh Vardhan has been given the charge of Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences as well.
During his first stint as the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Dr Harsh Vardhan focused on motivating scientists to develop new technologies that address social and environmental problems, following which his name was among the seven Indians who have been named in the ‘World’s 100 Most Influential People in Climate Policy for 2019’. Under his leadership, the environment ministry also launched the National Clean Air Programme that aims to reduce toxic particulate matter by 2024.
