No! Rishabh Pant did not tweet this; here’s the fact check

Date:

A screenshot of a tweet by cricketer, Rishabh Pant, is being shared online.

The tweet read: “पाकिस्तान ने फादर्स डे का बिलकुल भी अपमान नहीं किया टॉस जीतकर कहा मेरे बाप पहले आप”

(Translation – Pakistan did not insult Father’s Day at all, after winning the toss, said my father before you)

FACT CHECK

When we did a fact check, we found that the post is FAKE.

We started our investigation by checking out the official Twitter account of Rishabh Pant. We looked for tweets that were tweeted on June 16th, when India played against Pakistan.

At the time of filing of the report, we found that his last tweet was on June 15th.

This shows that the screenshot of the tweet is FAKE and should not be shared.
