LIVE: CCD founder, former Karnataka CM’s son-in-law VG Siddhartha goes missing; search underway

New Delhi: VG Siddhartha, the founder of India’s largest coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day went missing since Monday evening.

Reportedly, Siddhartha got off from his car near a bridge across the Nethravathi River near Mangalore, about 375km from Bengaluru, but did not return even after an hour.

The driver went down looking for him, but could not find him anywhere. He then alerted the family members who informed the police.

Siddhartha is a well-known businessman and also the son in law of Former Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna. Krishna is also a former Chief Minister of Karnataka.

“We don’t know what happened we are just waiting for more details, he was last seen near the bridge, he had some liabilities but had assets over Rs 15,000 crores,” a family friend told NewsMobile.

Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada police have launched a massive search for him.

“Yesterday, he left from Bengaluru saying he is going to Sakleshpur. But on the way, he told his driver to go to Mangaluru. On reaching Netravathi river bridge, he got down from the car, asked his driver to go ahead and stop,” Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil was quoted in a report.
