Best FIFA Football Awards 2019: Messi, Rapinoe to Klopp- Here’s the complete list of winners!

Barcelona forward and captain Lionel Messi bagged the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year award and US’ Megan Rapinoe was named the Women’s Player of the Year.

This is the sixth time Messi has bagged the award after sweeping it in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2015. He had ensured Barcelona’s victory in the La Liga and helped the team reach the semi-finals in the Champions League.

Rapinoe, who captained her team to victory in this year’s World Cup has also won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot for her top performance in the tournament.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was named men’s coach of the year after a season in which they beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 to lift the Champions League trophy.

Klopp was nominated for the award along with two other Premier League bosses – Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino.

Meanwhile, USA’s FIFA World Cup-winning coach Jill Ellis was named the Best Women’s Coach of the Year award.
