Date:

A video is doing rounds on social media claiming that the US army band was playing the Indian National Anthem in preparation for PM Narendra Modi’s arrival at the ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event in Houston, Texas.

The video is viral on Facebook and Twitter.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above viral video and found the claim attached to it to be FAKE.

We found the video posted by ANI newswire on September 19, 2019. The US Army band did play the Indian National Anthem but during the Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2019 at Joint Base Lewis, McChord.

This proves that the US Army was playing the Indian National Anthem during a joint military training exercise and not for PM Modi’s arrival at ‘Howdy, Modi’ event in Houston, Texas.
