In a unique challenge titled ‘2 years 2 minute’, the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern tried listing out all her government’s achievements within 2 minutes, but took just a little longer in a video released on various social media accounts.
This was organized as the current government in New Zealand completed 2 years in office. She is the 40th Prime Minister of New Zealand and 3rd woman PM of the nation. After taking over in October 26th, 2017, she vowed that her government would be “focused, emphatic and strong”.
Amongst the various achievements listed out by the PM, some of the key ones were the following:
Robust and humanitarian refugee policy,
Apprentice program for the youth,
Sound educational system,
Better and affordable health care,
Environmental protection which includes cleaning up of the lakes, rivers, elimination of single use plastics and cleaner oceans amongst others,
Increased recruitment into the Police Force and safer highways.
Increased tolerance to multi-culturalism and
Creating more jobs.
Amongst the various challenges that have rocked social media over the past few years, this one is definitely unique to the political system and it needs to be seen how far it will be emulated by others.
