After Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP formed an alliance to form government in Maharashtra, a picture is making rounds on social media in which Congress’ interim President, Sonia Gandhi’s portrait can be seen on Shiv Sena Bhavan.
The caption with the picture in Hindi read: “बस !!! अब यही देखना बाकी रह गया था”

FACT CHECK
When NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture, we found it to be FAKE.
On putting the picture through a simple Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture in which it was Bal Thackeray’s potrait on the Shiv Sena Bhavan.
We found the original picture on Flicker by Rajesh 2008 and according to the details attached with it, the picture was taken on May 1st, 2010.
In the above FAKE vs REAL collage, it is clear that Sonia Gandhi’s picture was superimposed on Bal Thackeray’s portrait to create a viral image.
