Election commission of India cracks down on liquor and cash distribution during elections and this measure has been taken to avoid such cases and to prevent law and order issues which can impact the smooth conduct of the elections.

Overall in Karnataka, 15 Legislative Assembly constituencies will be voting on December 5th in the by polls. This has been necessitated as 17 legislators from the ruling party resigned in July 2019, which led to the defeat of HD Kumaraswamy’s government and brought BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa into power.
