Only vote for me if I have worked for five years: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

Date:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said, “Only vote for me if I have worked for five years, otherwise don’t.”

This is a bold statement that was made during a press conference after the Election Commission of India announced its poll schedule for the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Delhi goes to polls on February 8, 2020 and the counting will happen on February 11.

He also said that this will be the first election in India after 70 years when voting takes place on issues related to schools and hospitals.

Highlighting his development agenda, he said that the elections will be fought on improvement in schools, hospitals, roads, electricity and regularization of illegal colonies. He has, on various occasions, spoken about the achievements of his government related to the ease of living of the people.

Even as national issues seem to be the focus of the Delhi polls, the incumbent CM will hope to make local issues and more particularly his government’s work, the main focus.

The Election Commission of India on Monday announced the poll schedule for the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

The voting will take place on February 8 and the results will be announced on February 11.

This is mainly a two way contest between the BJP and AAP.

The BJP is hoping to puncture the development claims of the government and speak about the development work it has completed such as the regularization of illegal colonies, infrastructure development including metro expansion projects.
