This picture of coffins is not related to recent coronavirus deaths in Italy

A picture of coffins is being shared on social media with a claim that it is from Italy and it is also implied that those coffins are of people who died due to Coronavirus.

“In case you are still not convinced to stay home for you and your loved ones…Here’s a picture from Italy” – the text accompanying the picture read.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found he claim to be misleading.

On putting the image through Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture on the website of Getty Images.

As per the caption, the picture is from 2013, these coffins are of the African migrants killed in a shipwreck off the Italian coast.

The picture started doing the round following the surge in deaths in Italy due to Coronavirus. Even though the above picture is from Italy, it is firstly, a 2013 picture and secondly, it is not related to Coronavirus.

Hence, the above information proves that the claim attached to the viral picture is misleading.
