China Asks India To Promptly Transfer It’s Soldier To Jointly Maintain Peace And Tranquility Along Borders

An Indian soldier went missing along the border in Ladakh on Friday according to a Chinese Military Online, a news portal run by the military’s official People’s Liberation Army Daily after which China has called for the prompt transfer of it’s soldier.

India replied saying the Chinese soldier had been found and that he would be returned to China once India received information from senior officers. The Chinese military portal said that India should “Jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the border area.”

Since June 2020, there have been tensions between China and India after skirmishes along the disputed Himalayan border led to the death of at least 20 Indian soldiers while China did not disclose the number of casualties.

Following this, tens of thousands of PLA soldiers were deployed across India’s Ladakh region and China’s Tibetan plateau.

In November 2020, the two sides began formulating a disengagement plan to withdraw troops and establish no-patrol zones.
