A nationwide outrage followed after the arrest of a 21-year-old climate activist named Disha Ravi for her alleged involvement in the Greta Thunberg ‘toolkit’ case.
Disha was arrested from Bengaluru on Saturday for allegedly sharing the “toolkit” related to the ongoing farmer’s protest with Greta Thunberg.
As per the Delhi Police, Disha Ravi was an editor of the “toolkit Google doc” and a “key conspirator” in forming and circulating the document. The Police further alleged that Disha Ravi, along with some others “collaborated with pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation to spread disaffection against the Indian State.”

Who is Disha Ravi?
Disha Ravi is a BBA graduate from a private college in Bengaluru. She is a climate activist and is one of the founding members of a group named ‘Fridays For Future India’.
Notably, the ‘Fridays For Future India’ movement started in August 2018 when climate activist Greta Thunberg went on a strike demanding action on climate change.
Disha had said in an interview that she was motivated to become a climate activist after she saw her grandparents, who she said worked as farmers, struggle with the effects of the climate crisis.
“At the time, I wasn’t aware that what they were experiencing was the climate crisis because climate education is non-existent where I’m from. Only when I did my research, did I find out about it. Millions of people are affected by the climate crisis every single day but no one talks about it. I wanted to change that, I wanted to make the topic a household conversation because only when we know the truth can we act on it, and we need action now because the climate crisis is happening to us now!”
Disha also works with a company that produces plant-based food that is affordable and accessible in India.
