A picture of Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Singh Mann is going viral on social media. Facebook users claim that when liquor shops opened up after the lockdown last year (2020), Mann was seen drinking outside one of the shops.

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.
We ran a Reverse Image Search and found the same picture on Facebook dated May 9, 2019.
However, we noticed that in the real picture there is no liquor shop in the background and Bhagwant Mann can be seen drinking water from a container that looks like a bottle. A pot of water can also be seen beside him.
Since this was posted in 2019, it makes it clear that the photo existed before COVID-19 broke out.
We also ran a Google search using keywords–‘lockdown, Bhagwant Singh Mann, drinking’ but couldn’t find any media reports.
With all the information, it is clear that the picture in circulation has been edited using photo editing software to give a false narrative.
