FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found it to be misleading.
On running a Google search with some key words we found that the government announced the insurance cover for frontline health workers last year on March 26, 2020 for a span of 3 months under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan package (PMGKP).
The headline of a report by Outlook India read, “Rs 50 Lakh Insurance Cover For Doctors, Healthcare Workers Fighting Coronavirus: FM Nirmala Sitharaman.
Thereafter, the insurance scheme was once extended for three months in June and for six months in September.
We found a tweet by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare published on April 18, 2021, explaining that the claims under PMGKP will be settled by the Insurance Company till 24th of April 2021.
The tweet further mentions that a new dispensation will be provided to cover the Corona Warriors, for which the Ministry is in talks with the Insurance Company (New India Assurance).

We also found a tweet by the government’s nodal agency Press Information Bureau (PIB), published on April 19, 2021, stating that media organisation, New Indian Express’s claim about Centre withdrawing the insurance scheme is misleading.

On digging further, we found the said report by The New Indian Express but the headline was updated with the correct information.
Hence, from the above information, it is clear that government has not withdrawn insurance cover for healthcare workers.
