FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral claim and found it to be misleading.

We did a Reverse Image Search along with some keywords like ‘woman’, ‘hospital’, ‘oxygen cylinder’ and came across a news report by The Times of India, uploaded in April 2018. “Agra: Man awaits ambulance while carrying mother’s oxygen cylinders on shoulder,” the title of the video read.

The description of the video reads, “In yet another case of medical apathy, a man was allegedly made to wait for an ambulance at Uttar Pradesh’s Agra Medical College, while carrying oxygen cylinder attached to his ailing mother, on his shoulder.”

News agency ANI had also reported the incident on April 7, 2018, and at 0:03 second time frame, the image in question can be seen. The title of the video read, “Medical apathy! Man awaits ambulance while carrying mother’s oxygen cylinders on shoulder.”

Digging further, we found a news article by News18 Hindi which carried the same image. The article was published in 2018.

It is evident from the above information that the viral image is of 2018 and not related to the current COVID-19 situation. Hence, the claim is misleading.
