A picture showing a ‘butterfly with sparkling wings’ is doing rounds on social media.
A user shared the picture on Facebook with a caption, “Rare Starry Butterfly! Beautiful!”.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the picture and found that the viral picture is morphed.
We noticed the watermark on the picture that read ‘Sara Shakeel’ and ran a Reverse Image Search with relevant keywords.
The search led us to Pakistani artist Sara Shakeel’s Instagram page where the picture was posted on March 3, 2019. The caption of the picture read, “Nothing Lasts Forever. I am sorry for 3 artworks within 3 hours lol ! I had a lot of feelings in me tonight! The second I got done with one artwork , I wanted to create another!! Well ThankGod for art! CollageArt SaraShakeel Butterfly photographer Stephen Powell.”

The artist in the caption mentioned that the picture was an artwork.
We found the same picture on another website The Chic Innovator. The description read, “Artist Sara Shakeel knows how to paint the world using glitter, crystals and diamonds”.
We also found the original picture of the butterfly clicked by photographer Stephen Powell in 2012. The butterfly shown in the picture is the Black-veined White butterfly.
We further searched for starry butterfly and found that a species of butterfly Hamadryas laodamia is called Starry Night Cracker but it does not look similar to the butterfly in the picture in question.
Hence, the above information proves that the picture is an artwork that is being passed off as real.
