A video is going viral on social media platforms showing a group of men celebrating. It is being claimed that Indian Army’s Sikh regiment has built a Gurdwara and installed ‘Nishan Sahib’ at the India-China border.
A Facebook user shared the video with a caption in Hindi that roughly translates to, “The Sikh Regiment built a Gurdwara on the China border and put up a Nishan Sahib, this is the gift of Modi government. Jai Hindi”

The video is doing rounds on Twitter with the same claim.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral video and found that it is being shared with a false claim.
With the help of Reverse Image Search, we found a longer version of the video uploaded on a YouTube channel on October 25, 2021. “Indian Army installs 80 feet Nishan Sahib in Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib in Leh, India. Waheguru ji,” reads the title of the video.
Taking a hint from this, we checked further and found a report on the PTC Punjabi UK Facebook page with a caption,” Indian Army installs 80 feet Nishan Sahib at Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib in Leh, India.” One can find the viral visuals at 33 seconds video mark in the video.
BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also tweeted the visuals on October 25, 2021, stating that the visuals are from Leh.
Moreover, Sudhir Chamoli, spokesperson of the Indian Army confirmed to Reuters that no Gurudwara has been built at the Indo-China border and the visuals are from Leh. “There is no such gurudwara at the Indo-China border. The video doing the rounds on social media is of Pathar Sahib, which is located in Leh. It is at a distance of over 20 km towards Kargil from Leh,” Reuters quoted Chamoli as saying.
Therefore, it can be concluded that a video from Leh is being shared with a false claim.
