Date:

In the backdrop of the ongoing UP assembly elections, video of a BJP campaign vehicle stuck in a pothole has gone viral on social media with a claim that the vehicle got stuck in a pothole in Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s constituency.

The video is being shared with a caption: “संजय गुप्ता तो केशव प्रसाद मौर्य की गढ्ढा मुक्त सड़क में फंस गए, अब आगे कैसे बढ़ें।” (English translation, “Sanjay Gupta is stuck in the Keshav Prasad Maurya’s pothole-free road.”)

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be misleading.

On closely observing the video we found that on the campaign vehicle it was mentioned Laksar. We found Laksar is in Uttarakhand.

Also, on further searching, we found that Sanjay Gupta Ramraksh Pal is a BJP MLA from Laksar in Uttarakhand.

Keshav Prasad Maurya is from Uttar Pradesh. Thus, we can ascertain that the viral video is not from his Maurya’s constituency.

Hence, the viral video is from Uttarakhand and not Uttar Pradesh. Thus, the viral claim is misleading.
