Date:

Amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war which began with Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, a video of a cargo train carrying tanks went viral.

The video is being shared with a claim that it shows Russian weaponry en route Ukraine. The video is being shared with the caption that reads, “When These States/Nations Are Fighting Please Let African States & Their Leaders Keep Quiet & Watch WHY This Is Russia Deploying In Ukraine Weapons on train of over 40milles (65 kilometers long.)”

The link to the post can be seen here.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.

On doing a Google Reverse Image we found the same video was uploaded by a YouTube channel on August 30, 2012, with the title that read, “CN 2235, CN 8803 – Ultra Rare Canadian Military Train – Westbound – Lovekin, ON.”

We also found that in the viral video ‘CN’ was written on the railway engine.  We found the same ‘CN’ was also mentioned on the engine, whose image was published on the official Facebook page of the Canadian National Railway Company.

While we were not able to ascertain when the video was recorded, we could confirm that the viral video is old and shows a Candian train; it is not associated with the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
