Korea Open 2022: PV Sindhu Sails To Quarter Finals; Kidambi Srikanth Beat Misha Zilberman

Suncheon (South Korea): The third-seed PV Sindhu stormed into the quarterfinals of the Korea Open Badminton Champions 2022 after defeating Japan’s Aya Ohori at the Palma Stadium. 

In another match, former world No.1 Kidambi Srikanth defeated Misha Zilberman of Israel by 21-18. 

The two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu defeated world no.26 Aya Ohori in the second round of her women’s single event. It took her 37 minutes to notch up her 12th win against Aya Ohori. 

PV Sindhu will now face Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the upcoming quarterfinals. 

The match, however, did not start on a good note for her but she managed to keep the lead from 11-9 at the first break. She then shifted gears to pocket the first game with ease. 

Sindhu was trailing in the second game with 8-4 but later won four points on the trot to level the score and then went up to 11-9 in the second break. The game took a dramatic turn with Sindhu winning ten points straight and sailing swiftly to the quarterfinals. 

Kidambi Srikanth shifted gears towards the second game, cruising to a massive 12-0 lead against Misha Zilberman. He went on to wrap up the game in 33 minutes.
