A video of a huge crowd is being circulated on social media with a claim that it is of recent Ram Navami celebrations in Mumbai.
Facebook users are sharing the video with the caption, “रामनवमी के अवसर पर मुंबई महाराष्ट्र से.. मेरा देश बदल रहा है.”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found that the video is old.
While analysing the video carefully, we noticed a piece of cloth with ‘Chintamani’ written on it appear in a few frames.
We then extracted the keyframes of the video using the InVid tool and put them through a Reverse Image Search along with a keyword search.
We found that the same video was uploaded on YouTube as a short video reel on July 19, 2020, with the title, “Chinchpokli cha chintamani visarjan.”
We searched further and found that the same video was uploaded on the Facebook page of Chinchpoklicha Chintamani on April 2, 2020. Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Chinchpokli Sarvjanik Utsav Mandal is known for the Ganesh Chaturthi pandal.

In the above caption, text like ‘Chinchpoklicha Chintamani Visarjan Sohala Miravanuk’ and hashtags like ‘#ganpati #bappa #visarjan #ganeshvisarjan‘ are also used, indicating that the video could be of Ganpati Visarjan in Mumbai.
Moreover, in 2020 Ram Navami was celebrated on April 2. However, since the country was under complete lockdown due to COVID-19 at that time, it is clear that the video was taken before 2020.
NewsMobile independently couldn’t verify when the video was shot exactly but from the Fact Check, it is clear that it is old and was not shot in 2022.
