Recently, an image has gone viral on social media platforms showing a picture of two mountains kissing. the image is being shared with a claim that the visuals are from a spot in America.
A Facebook user shared the image with the caption, “They are on the shoreline of Pacific Grove, California, and the most romantic spot in the United States.”
The image is also doing rounds on Twitter with the same claim.

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image and found it to be shared with a false claim.
On performing a relevant keyword search, we did not find any such place that was mentioned in the viral claim. We then performed a Reverse Image Search and found a similar image carried in a Daily Mail article. The article talks about Thailand. In the original image, one can notice the cliffs are not face-shaped. The article identifies the location of the photo as Phi Phi Le, an island in Thailand.
“Thai coastline,” reads the caption with the image.
On further checking, we found on art retail websites like Pixels and Fine Art America. As per the details, Durgasrinivas Yarramsetty has created the photograph. The image is titled, “The kissing rock in Pacific Grove, California.”
Therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that the viral image is edited and is being shared with a false claim.
