New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Nepal’s Lumbini to mark the occasion of Buddha Purnima on Monday.
Upon his arrival PM Modi visited Mahamayadevi Temple in Lumbini.
Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba received PM Modi from the airport upon his arrival.

At Lumbini, Prime Minister will visit the sacred Mayadevi temple to offer prayers. Prime Minister will also deliver an address at a Buddha Jayanti event.
PM Modi will participate in the “Shilanyas” ceremony for the construction of a centre for Buddhist culture and heritage, in a plot belonging to the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), New Delhi within the Lumbini Monastic Zone.
Upon his return, PM Modi will take a halt at UP’s Kushinagar where he will offer prayers to Lord Buddha in Kushinagar.
Both Prime Ministers will also hold a bilateral meeting.
