Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter after learning that Twitter had charged him for breaching the $44 billion contract.
He tweeted, “Oh the irony lol.” While his tweet did not state the legal battle, it was clear that he was referring to it, given that Twitter seemingly did not choose to go forward with the agreement back in April. According to The Verge, the lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in Delaware’s Chancery division, alleging Musk of immorality.
Musk was highly responsive to a complaint brought by Twitter accusing him of overstepping the $44 billion agreement. The civil suit is the introduction of what will be a brief legal dispute as Twitter aims to retain Musk accountable for his agreement to pay $54.20 for every equity for the firm. Twitter, which seems expressed by M&A dominant force law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, claimed Musk sought out of the contract by claiming an information negative impact or violation.
Musk would have to try to summon up one of those, according to the lawsuit. Musk announced the dismissal of the $44 billion agreement in a letter sent to Twitter last week by his club. Musk decided to cease the transaction due to numerous intrusions on the sales contract.
