5G Spectrum Auction: Reliance Jio Tops Auction Bids With ₹88,078 Crore, Govt Secures Over ₹1.5 Lakh Crore

New Delhi: Reliance Jio backed by Mukesh Ambani has made bids worth ₹88,078 crores accounting for 58.65% of the total value of ₹1,50,173 crore received by the government in the 5G spectrum auction that concluded on Monday.

The Union Minister of Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw while briefing added that Reliance Jio has made bids to acquire 24,740 MHz spectrum in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1800 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz.

In the race for 5G spectrum bid, Bharti Airtel has made bids worth ₹43,084 crores to acquire 19867.8 MHz in categories of 900 MHz, 1800MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz frequency bands.

Vodafone Idea Limited has made bids worth ₹18,799 crores to acquire 6,228 MHz spectrum in 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz.

Adani Data Network Limited has made bids worth ₹212 crores to acquire 400 MHz spectrum in the 26 GHz frequency band.

A total of 72,098 MHz of spectrum was offered for auction in the current bid race out of which 51,236 MHz has been sold. The bidding auction concluded after 40 rounds that were held in the past seven days.
