Election For Congress President To Be Held On Oct 17, Counting On Oct 19

Date:

New Delhi: Amid the recent developments in the grand old party, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) conducted a meeting in the presence of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra through video conferencing on Sunday.

According to ANI sources, the election for the next Congress President post will be held on 17th October followed by counting on 19th October.

Earlier this week, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned from the party citing that “Indian National Congress has lost both the will and ability to fight for what is right.”

The sources had said that the election for the post of president has now become a challenge for Congress with the reluctance of Rahul Gandhi to contest the polls.

According to reports, the Central Election Authority has made preparations to complete the election process on time.
