India Squad For T20 World Cup Announced; Bumrah, Patel Return While Shami Misses Out

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and Vice-Captain KL Rahul will lead Men In Blue in the campaign. The much-anticipated players Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are finally added to the squad.

Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are added as wicket-keepers to the side. Asia Cup bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Yuzvendra Chahal make a dominant and firm stand in the squad.

In a significant decision, Indian pace bowler Mohd. Shami was not named in the 15-member squad traveling to Australia for the mega competition. Deepak Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, and Shreyas Iyer were named as stand-by players with Shami.

With the T20 World Cup announcement, The All India Selection Committee has also announced the squad for the series against Australia and South Africa slated ahead of the T20 World Cup.
