NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.
A blog post by Twitter, dated January 8, 2021, has also mentioned that the Twitter handle of former US President Donald Trump (@realDonaldTrump) has been suspended.
But checking his Twitter handle, @realDonaldTrump, we found that it was still suspended at the time of writing this article (October 30, 2022).
Going through the screenshot of the tweet carefully, we found its Twitter account — @TheUltGmr, which reads: “We do a little trolling. (This is a parody)”.
We also found reports about Trump hailing the sale of Twitter to Elon Musk. “I am very happy that Twitter is now in sane hands, and will no longer be run by radical Left lunatics and maniacs that truly hate our country,” Trump said on his own Truth Social platform. Truth Social is a Twitter-like platform run by the Trump Media & Technology Group.
Thus, it is clear that the tweet has not been done by Donald Trump. And it is very difficult to say if his Twitter account will be restored.
