Benjamin Netanyahu To Make Comeback As Israeli PM Lapid Concedes Defeat

Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu for his victory in the national elections on Thursday.

According to a report by PTI, 99% of the ballots are counted, the Netanyahu-led party has secured 64 seats in the 120-member Knesset leading to a swift victory.

The report further added that Lapid told Netanyahu he’s instructed all departments of the Prime Minister’s Office to prepare for an orderly transfer of power.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and added, “Mazel Tov my friend Benjamin Netanyahu for your electoral success. I look forward to continuing our joint efforts to deepen the India-Israel strategic partnership.”

He further thanked outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid for his priority to the India-Israel strategic partnership.

Benjamin Netanyahu holds the record of being the longest-serving Prime Minister in the country’s history.
