Mumbai: Actress Nora Fatehi has filed a defamation suit on Monday against actress Jacqueline Fernandez alleging for making “defamatory imputations” and 15 media houses for further “carrying forward and circulating” the remarks, in connection with the money laundering case of Rs 200 cr.
Nora Fatehi accused Jacqueline of making imputations to destroy her career to further her own interests. Jacqueline made a “false statement,” according to Nora, who claimed through her lawyer that it was “unnecessary and unwarranted.”
Jacqueline “unnecessarily dragged the complainant” and “defamed her as she is in the same industry and is fully aware that the business of any artist and their career is solely based on their reputation,” her lawyer submitted.
Actresses Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez appeared during an investigation against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar in the Rs 200 crore money-laundering case. Both actresses were earlier questioned separately by the agency on numerous occasions. Fernandez has been charge-sheeted in the matter.
