Binge Watch These Feel-Good Movies To Lift Your Christmas Spirits

Date:

Christmas has arrived and everything from street lights to shops is decorated to give you Christmas vibes.

Then how can the entertainment industry be far behind? Netflix, Amazon, Hotstar, and many other OTT platforms have a long list of movies for you to watch while snuggling in your blanket, sipping hot coffee and munching over your favourite snacks.

Here is a list of all time feel-good movies to raise your Christmas spirit.

Dil Chahta Hai

Friendships are the most beautiful relationship to exist in this world. Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai is a perfect ode to this. The film focuses on three college-graduate friends (Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan) and Akshaye Khanna) on a significant transition period in their romantic lives  (Preity Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia as female protagonists). Laughter, tears and contemporary human relationships, with a rare ensemble cast. All of these aspects make this a wholesome movie.

Golmaal series

Rohit Shetty’s movies are sure-shot entertainers which can be enjoyed with family and loved ones. The Golmaal films are a franchise that always tickles the funny bones. Beginning from the first one in 2005, it shows four runaway crooks who take shelter in a bungalow owned by a visually-impaired couple. The other movies in the series see an increase in production value, with more laughs and action stunts.

Home Sweet Home Alone

Christmas comedy that revolves around a couple trying to steal back a valuable heirloom from a troublesome kid. This movie can be nostalgic for 90’s kids who loved watching Home Alone.

Jab We Met

When Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) meets Geet (Kareena Kapoor) on his way to commit suicide, it’s irritation at first sight. He goes on to help her meet her boyfriend and their life changes during this journey. Comedy, romance, cheesy songs, this film is a must-watch.

Princess Switch 3

Romancing The Star: Are you a fan of the popular Netflix Christmas movie, Princess Switch? If yes, then here is good news for you. This Christmas you can see the blast of three doppelgangers, Margaret, Stacy and Friona. While the movie plot seems a bit silly, it is the castles, the snow and the shimmery Christmas light that you fall for.

Queen

Queen is about 24-year-old Rani (Kangana Ranaut) who decides to spend an independent ‘honeymoon’ abroad, after being rejected by her fiancé Vijay (Rajkummar Rao), the night before. During Rani’s journey abroad, she encounters and experiences new and unique things. Thus, she becomes the “Queen” of her own life. Rather than crying and moping over a broken relationship, Rani decides to let it go and live her life. A perfect holiday watch for those seeking some laughs, inspiration and motivation.

Dear Zindagi

You’d think a movie that revolves around mental health wouldn’t fit the definition of a ‘feel-good’ movie, but Dear Zindagi will convince you otherwise. We’ve been working hard this year, and with the added pressure of the disasters that have come upon us, it’s imperative that we give our brains and minds a break, and this movie is a brilliant lesson in itself. Add the SRK charm, and you’re hooked.

 A Boy Called Christmas

A family-friendly story that is based on the 2015 Children’s book by Matt Haig with the same title. The story gives you an insight into the origin of Christmas as fantasy and adventure follow young Nikolas.
