PM Modi Inaugurates First Phase Of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway From Rajasthan’s Dausa

Dausa: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway from Dausa in Rajasthan.

The first phase of PM’s ambitious project from the Sohna to Dausa stretch of the expressway will cut down the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur from five hours to around three and a half hours.

According to the PMO, the first completed section of the Delhi-Mumbai expressway was developed at a cost of more than ₹12,150 crores.

PM Modi while speaking at the inaugural ceremony added that “For the last 9 yrs, the central govt is continuously making huge investments in infrastructure.”

He further added that “the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor are going to become two strong pillars of progress for Rajasthan and the country”.

PM Modi has further laid down the foundation stone for road projects worth ₹18,100 crores. He further laid the foundation for the 247 km of national highway projects to be developed at a cost of more than ₹5,940 crore.

Delhi Mumbai Expressway will be India’s longest expressway with a length of 1,386 km. It will reduce the travel distance between Delhi and Mumbai by 12% from 1,424 km to 1,242 Km and travel time will be reduced by 50% from 24 hours to 12 hours.

The expressway will pass through six states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and connect major cities like Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara and Surat.
