Date:

A video purportedly showing US President Joe Biden making transphobic remarks is widely shared on social media. In the viral video, he can be heard saying things like “You will never be a real woman.” He also appears to make references to suicide in the clip.

The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “RIP to the Optical Illusion that was bye-dan, [DEATH SENTENCES] Shattered Flase Realities This Clown is DONE”

Here’s the link to the above post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

We could not find any credible media report corroborating Biden’s viral remarks. We also checked the transcripts of the White House but could not find any similar remarks. Had Biden made such a controversial statement, mainstream media would have covered it.

Doing a Reverse Image Search of keyframes, we found Biden’s declaration that the United States will be sending 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine on January 25, 2023. Biden is seen in the same attire and with the same flags behind him in footage of this address. None of the statements stated in the viral video circulated is included in this footage or the speech’s official transcript

Thus, it is clear that the viral video is altered.
