Guwahati: Rajasthan Royals are back on the winning ways as they win the first doubleheader contest by 57 runs on Saturday.
Batting first, RR took off to a dominant start with Yashashvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler forging a strong partnership of 98 runs.
Yashashvi played a power-packed inning of 60 runs in 31 deliveries and was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar.
RR put up a strong total of 200 runs with contributions from Jos Buttler who scored 79 runs, and Shimron Hetmyer who played a cameo knock of 39 runs.
DC while chasing the mammoth total lost early wickets in the form of Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey who were dismissed by Trent Boult.
Lalit Yadav joined the skipper on the chase and played a balanced knock of 38 runs in 24 deliveries. David Warner’s half century went in vain as he was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal on 65 runs.
Boult and Chahar remained impact bowlers for RR as they restricted DC at a total of 142 runs.
With this win, RR glide to the top of the points table.
