COVID Update: Significant Drop In Count, India Reports 9,111 Fresh Cases

New Delhi: Amid the recent surge in the number of COVID-related cases, India on Monday reported a significant drop in daily cases with 9,111 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.

COVID continued to surge in the past few days as India reported 10,093 cases on Sunday and 10,753 cases on Saturday.

According to Union Health Ministry data, the country’s active caseload currently stands at 60,313.

The death toll stands at 27 in the last 24 hours with six from Gujarat, four from Uttar Pradesh, three instances of death reported from both Delhi and Rajasthan, two from Maharashtra, one each from Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

A total of 6,313 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours taking the total recovery tally to 4,42,35,772. The daily positivity rate stood at 8.40 per cent.

A total of 220.66 cr Vaccine doses (95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.87 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
