While looking for more posts, we found the longer version of the same video also shared by Facebook users in December 2020, with similar claims.
In the video, we noticed BJP’s Bengal unit President Dilip Ghosh. Searching further, the NM team found many media organisations carrying the reports in 2017, featuring similar clips.
The title of a news bulletin, uploaded by ABP News on October 6, 2017, reads: “Attack on BJP President Dilip Ghosh in Darjeeling.”
In 2017, he was allegedly attacked by activists of the anti-Bimal Gurung faction of Gorkhaland Janmukti Morcha.
The same incident was also covered by Republic TV.
