An image of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan wearing a military general uniform has gone viral on social media. While sharing this image, people on social media claim that the viral picture is related to Aamir Khan’s upcoming biopic on Lala Amarnath, which will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
A Facebook user shared this image with a description: “Check Story And Watch – Aamir Khan Next Movie Update is here Biopic on Lala Amarnath With Rajkumar Hirani Watch nOw. #aamirkhan #amirkhan #lalaamarnath #rajkumarhirani.”

Running a Reverse Image Search, the NM team traced the India Today report, dated August 1, 2023, carrying similar images. The title of the report reads: “SRK to Aamir Khan, AI artist imagines desi star cast of Oppenheimer”. The report suggests that an AI artist used AI tools to envision what the star cast of Oppenheimer would look like if it was made in Bollywood.
We also came across an Instagram handle Wild Trance who originally shared the viral image. The caption of the post reads: “Unfathomable Fusion: The Oppenheimer Project” with an Indian star cast under Christopher Nolan’s direction would be a cinematic masterpiece, showcasing the brilliance of both Oppenheimer‘s scientific mind and the talents of the Indian film industry.”

The artist Wild Trance also mentioned a disclaimer that the images have been generated using Midjourney AI. The disclaimer reads: “Disclaimer: These images are generated using artificial intelligence (AI) and are intended solely for entertainment purposes. There is no intention to cause harm or distress to anyone’s feelings by these images. They are created with the intention of spreading joy and smiles across the world.”
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral image was created using AI tools. It does not show Aamir Khan as Lala Amarnath in his upcoming biopic.
