A video clip is extensively circulated on social media claiming that 40 years ago the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, successfully organised a G20 meeting in New Delhi.
The post was shared with the text: “40 साल पहले श्रीमती इंदिरा जी ने G-20 बैठक का प्रतिनिधित्व दिल्ली में किया था, यह कोई नई बात नहीं है कि आज हम G20 बैठक कर रहे हैं , यह काम 40 साल पहले कांग्रेस कर चुकी है।” (English translation: 40 years ago, Mrs. Indira ji represented the G-20 meeting in Delhi. It is not a new thing that today we are holding G20 meeting. Congress had done this work 40 years ago.)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.
In the video, we could see the watermark of ‘www.wildfilmsindia.com’. Based on this, the same video was found on the YouTube channel of WildFilmsIndia. It had been uploaded on November 19, 2018, with a title: “Non-aligned Movement — NAM and Indira Gandhi — a short documentary.”
The channel had also uploaded another video, where Indira Gandhi could be heard talking about non-alignment.
Some more clips of the viral video had also been taken from the archive video of the Associated Press. The video had been uploaded by AP Archive, dated March 14, 2022, with a title: “GS 07 03 1983 NON-ALIGNED NATIONS CONFERENCE BEGINS IN NEW DELHI.”
The video description reads: “(16 Mar 1983) The 7th Summit of Non-aligned Nations gets underway with Indian Premier Indira Gandhi making the opening address. Cuban President Fidel Castro, the outgoing chairman, embraces Mrs Gandhi as he hands over the hammer.”
Surprisingly, the website of G20 informs that G20 was founded in 1999, and the first summit was held in 2008 in Washington DC (US).
Based on the above information, it is clear that the video is not of a G20 summit. So, we can conclude that the viral post is fake.
