Running the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, our team found the same video shared on Facebook in 2019. As per its description, a group of lawyers opposed setting up the State Education Service Tribunal in Lucknow and took out the procession against Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government.
The same visuals were also found on a YouTube channel Akhand Bharat TV, dated September 16, 2019. Thousands of lawyers of Allahabad High Court took out the funeral procession of BJP government and CM Yogi Adityanath from Ambedkar Square High Court to Subhash Square Civil Lines. Lawyers also burnt an effigy of Adityanath at the Civil Lines intersection, and slogans of Yogi Adityanath murdabad were raised.
As per the report by Amar Ujala, dated September 12, 2019, the viral incident took place in Prayagraj. The HC lawyers conducted a funeral procession as a protest against the establishment of the State Education Service Tribunal in Lucknow. Led by advocate Ritesh Srivastava — warning the government to go on an indefinite fast on the tribunal issue — the lawyers marched from the Ambedkar statue site to gate number three of the High Court at 4 p.m. During the procession, they raised slogans against the state government and demanded that all tribunals, including education services, be set up in Prayagraj.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video is almost 4 years old and not related to the protest against the recent lathi-charge on lawyers in Hapur.
