Sam Bahadur’s ‘Badhte Chalo’ To Be Played During India-New Zealand Semi-Finals

The feeling of patriotism, the feeling of goosebumps is going to get doubled during today’s much anticipated India-New Zealand ODI World Cup semi-finals. As the Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur’s patriotic anthem ‘Badhte Chalo’ will be played during the match.

Sam Bahadur is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical war drama film based on the life of India’s first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw. It is directed by Meghna Gulzar who co wrote with Bhavani Iyer and Shantanu Srivastava.

The film’s trailer has been winning hearts since the day it was out. And now to increase the excitement of the audience, the makers have unveiled it’s first song, ‘Badhte Chalo’. The song is a tribute to the spirit and sacrifices of the Indian Army. India’s three best singers came together for this song- Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal Dadlani, and Divya Kumar. Lyrics are by Gulzar and the music is composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy.

The anthem’s video has tried to capture the essence and glimpses from the 1971 war. It shows Manekshaw’s leadership, and the Indian Army’s defiance in the war against Pakistan. the video starts with Manekshaw rallying his troops for the war.

The diverse cast of the movie also includes- Sanya Malhotra as Silloo Manekshaw, Sam’s wife, Fatima Sana Shaikh as Indira Gandhi, Neeraj Kabi as Jawaharlal Nehru, Edward Sonnenblick as Lord Mountbatten, Govind Namdev as Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Yahya Khan, Bobby Arora as Major O. S. Kalkat, Rajiv Kachroo as Hormusji Manekshaw.
