A video of veteran Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has surfaced on Internet, claiming that he is addressing the rumours about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s divorce.
In the video, Bachchan can be heard saying in Hindi: “श्वेता ने ऐश्वर्या को निकला।।। ऐश्वर्या ने श्वेता को चाटा मारा की वापस जाओ… तो वापस से तोह ऊसने गुंडों से अटैक करवा दिया” (Translation: Shweta told Aishwarya to go back… Aishwarya slapped Shweta… then she (Aishwarya) got attacked by the goons.) The caption reads: “Amitabh Bachchan reaction on Abhishek-Aishwarya divorce”.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video, and found it to be fake.
Observing the video carefully, our team noticed that the audio was not in sync with the video. Putting the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, several articles were found in December 2016, suggesting that it was the first Facebook LIVE Amitabh Bachchan did in December 2016. The original video was also traced on the official Facebook page of Amitabh Bachchan, dated December 1, 2016.
We found the video-in-question trimmed from the 3:51 time stamp of the original video.
In the original video, senior Bachchan was testing his Facebook LIVE feature while interacting with his fans. Nowhere in the video, he could be heard making any statement as in the viral video.
There is no authentic report about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai getting divorced. Hence, it can established that the audio in the video-in-question matching Amitabh Bachchan’s voice has been generated by using the Artificial Intelligence (AI) software.
