Ibrahim Ali Khan, Khushi Kapoor To Come Together For Dharma’s Next

Date:

Prior to his entry into the film industry, Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, has secured his next film. Set in Kashmir, the thriller ‘Sarzameen’ will mark his debut, where he’ll star alongside Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. This project is under the wing of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Adding to the excitement, Khan has also been signed by the filmmaker for a romantic comedy, pairing him with newcomer Khushi Kapoor, known from The Archies.

A source quoted in a report by Pinkvilla said, ‘It’s being planned as a direct-to-digital project to be produced by his digital wing, Dharmatics. The film will go on floors next year and will be directed by Shauna Gautam. The makers are in talks with a leading OTT player for streaming rights.’

The source further added, ‘It’s one of those romantic comedies that Hindi Cinema is known for. However, Karan and co. feel that the palette of narrative fits better for the OTT than the big screen. It’s planned and will be executed as an OTT original.’

This venture represents the sophomore outings for both Ibrahim and Khushi. The film will be directed by Shauna Gautam, who previously collaborated with Karan Johar on ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ as an Associate Director, where Ibrahim served as an Assistant Director. Gautam’s experience extends to working with Rajkumar Hirani as an AD on ‘Sanju’. As of now, the project is in its pre-production phase, actively assembling the ensemble cast.
