Fact Check: Does This Viral Post Show New CM of Rajasthan Showcasing His Sword Skills? Here’s the Truth

Date:

A video of a man showcasing his sword skills is doing the rounds on social media with a claim that he is the new chief minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma.

The post reads: “राजस्थान के योगी आदित्यनाथ भजन लाल शर्मा..’ (English translation: Rajasthan’s Yogi Adityanath, Bhajan Lal Sharma.)

Here’s the link to the above post.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be misleading.

Spotting the logo News Nation at the top left corner of the viral clip, we scanned through their YouTube channel, and found the video uploaded on August 29, 2022, with a title stating that the man is Jagdish Devda.

Jagdish Devda the new deputy chief minister of Madhya Pradesh.

The same video was also shared by TV9 Bharatvarsh on August 29, 2022, stating that the post showing Jagdish Devda is from Malhargarh, MP.

The same video was also shared by Jagdish Devda on X (formally Twitter) in August 2022 with a caption: “मल्हारगढ़ में बाबा रामदेव जी के मेले मे.” (English translation: At the Baba Ramdev Ji Fair in Malhargarh.)

This proves that the video claiming Rajasthan’s new CM Bhajan Lal Sharma showcasing his sword skills is, in fact, the image of Jagdish Devda, new deputy chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. It’s just misleading.
